About us

FLYING WHALES is an extraordinary industrial adventure.

We design today and we will build and operate tomorrow a fleet of airships, the LCA60T, intended for cargo transport. Capable of loading and unloading up to 60 tons of cargo (wood, wind turbine blades, containers, mobile hospitals, etc.) in hovering flight, with a reduced environmental footprint, this transport system is unprecedented.

At FLYING WHALES, we have a bold vision that brings together more than 180 pioneers and about 40 partner companies. These pioneers of the 21st century, men and women, bring their desire, their passion and their know-how every day to give birth to a new transportation solution, but also to an idea. The idea that societies must be able to continue to create links in order to develop.

This is the mission that FLYING WHALES has set itself: to open up isolated regions in the world while helping to reduce CO2 emissions in the transport sector thanks to a low-carbon aircraft.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

In the context of our continuously growing test activities, we are looking for a Flight Test Engineer Intern for the Flight Test department. 

Mission

YOUR MISSIONS:

  • Support the Flight Test Team as required, as a Team Member.

  • Prepare Test Cards for upcoming test activities.

  • Participate in all pre- and post-activity debriefings.

  • Participate in test activities as required, possibly as a test conductor.

  • Perform preliminary data analyses.

  • Prepare Test Execution Reports.

  • Participate in the development of long-term prototype flight test plans.

Profile

 YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES:

  • Education: Finaly year of studies of Engineering school or Master’s Degree in Aeronautics/Aerospace.

  • Any Flight Test related formal education will be a plus.

YOUR COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of aviation terminology and common aircraft instruments.

  • Knowledge of aircraft aerodynamics.

  • Basic knowledge of aircraft avionics.

  • Any airplane/helicopter Pilot Licence or experience as a student pilot will be a plus.

  • Computer skills: MS Office Suite, Matlab.

  • Fluent English (level C1).

  • You can provide instructions in a clear and assertive way.
