About us

WHO WE ARE

We design today and we will build and operate tomorrow a fleet of airships, the LCA60T, intended for cargo transport. Capable of loading and unloading up to 60 tons of cargo (wood, wind turbine blades, containers, mobile hospitals, etc.) in hovering flight, with a reduced environmental footprint, this transport system is unprecedented.

At FLYING WHALES, we have a bold vision that brings together more than 140 pioneers and about 40 partner companies. These pioneers of the 21st century, men and women, bring their desire, their passion and their know-how every day to give birth to a new transportation solution, but also to an idea. The idea that societies must be able to continue to create links in order to develop.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a system engineer working on LCA60T solution architecture definition to join the Flying Whales Overall Definition Team. You will be responsible of the definition of operation concepts of LCA60T solution and top level requirements.

Overall Definition Team is in charge of the overall definition of LCA60T airship solution (from specification, through definition, up to validation and verification), including all the needed systems for its operations.

Mission

YOUR MISSIONS:

  • Elaborate operation concepts of airship-based transport solution, while considering customers’ needs, environment constraints, airship and ground systems performances        

  • Consolidate top level requirements of LCA60T solution to perform a large variety of transportation missions                           

  • Allocate and justify the performances and specifications to different systems

  • Responsible of technical documents and analyses to justify decision-making

  • Contribute to feasibility studies of new missions

  • Contribute to the validation and verification of LCA60T solution

  • Interact with airship system engineers, design engineers, operation engineers, business developers, contractors and customers

      

YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES:

  • Education: Engineering degree (or equivalent) in aeronautic engineering or in system-of-systems engineering

  • Previous experience: 3 years in complex system development or airport/aviation operations

Profile

YOUR COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience in system engineering (need capture, concept of operation, trade-off, specification allocation…)

  • Ability to understand the specificities to operate an airship

  • Knowledge in aeronautic field

  • Knowledge in special lifting tool/crane operations or related

YOUR QUALITIES:

  • Sound communication skills with different teams

  • Leading transverse activities

  • Curious and rigorous

  • Very good english language skills, both written and spoken
